Barnsley Resort and Spa Day

Barnsley Resort & Spa Day

This week I have been sharing with you all some of my Spring Break “staycation” trips close to home but my visit at Barnsley Resort & Day at the Spa was probably one of my favorites. Located in Adairsville, GA (Bartow County) is tucked away this beautiful and serene resort like none other.  The Barnsley Resort & Gardens is truly considered “Southern Beauty” full of history and charm. They are part of the Southern Living Hotel Collection which features some of the best hotel accommodations in the southern regions.  It was a beautiful but breezy Saturday but absolutely perfect, relaxing, and breathtaking.

I first was greeted by the famous Historian & Museum Director Clent Coker, author of “Barnsley Gardens at Woodlands”  I picked up my autographed copy and cannot begin reading it. He has been featured in several publications and also on the History Channel.  I was honored to be guided by Mr. Coker on the Barnsley Resort grounds for over an hour.

His passion for the Barnsley history and gardens was very inspiring. He shared with me how he helped to stay involved to rebuild the once destroyed Barnsley estate, overgrown and neglected. His involvement into what Barnsley Resort has now become is absolutely fascinating to me. I was shown the lovely gardens as well as the historic ruins and museum featuring Barnsley and Civil War history, articles and artifacts.  Many weddings are hosted nearby.

After my wonderful tour, I headed over to The Woodlands Grill where I was treated with true Southern hospitality. I sat out in the Veranda overlooking the lake and golf course. It was so peaceful and relaxing. I took a snap photo of my view but made sure to put my phone away so that I could truly enjoy this scenery.

Can’t forget to mention the food.. The food was delicious!   Recommended by my waitress Victoria, I had fabulous guacamole dip  and chips for my appetizer. For my main lunch entree,  I chose my favorite…. Tuna Salad sandwich with tomato/lettuce with some fresh fruit. I did not have a chance to explore some of the other menu items but I was very pleased with my lunch entree. I am certain all of their menu items are wonderful.

After lunch, I attended the Ageless Aging Skincare Spa Event which was hosted by Barbara Close, Founder & CEO of Naturopathica. Of course delicious wine and light snacks were served but I was so full from lunch I couldn’t eat another bite.

Health & wellness is very important to me and this event was very informative when it comes to my skincare. Barbara Close educated us with proper skin care and ways we can help the inflammation of our skin as well as aging. She discussed the importance of our skin care products and cosmetics choices. There are a ton of nasty ingredients that may be in our over the counter makeup and skincare products that I was already aware of but needed the reminder to make sure I am checking my labels. These harmful ingredients can be very damaging to our skin. One thing I want to point out that she mentioned in her presentation is the importance of daily probiotics. An unhealthy gut can lead to a multitude of issues especially for the health of the skin.

After the presentation, we were taken back for our lovely mini facials.  I felt so refreshed afterward and my face was glowing & clean.   I have a ton of “Wish List” items from the Naturopathica product line that I cannot wait to purchase.  Her products can be purchased online. I did take home some Men’s Face Wash for my son who fights with hormonal teenage acne. Barbara was very helpful with product choice recommendations for both of us.

I did walk around the resort some on my own and took tons of photos. My photos do not serve the justice of the beauty of this place.  Although I was unable to stay overnight and was not able to take a peek in any of the cottages, I am confident that the accommodations are just as charming as the resort grounds.

The resort offers so many activities that you and your family will truly enjoy and make some wonderful memories with. They offer fishing, kayaking, canoeing, tennis, golf, swim, biking, horseback riding, hiking…. so much!   I do plan to go back soon for a weekend getaway with just my honey and who knows… maybe I’ve found the perfect location for our vowel renewal in three years. If you are looking for peace & tranquility, then Barnsley Resort is the place to visit.

I want to thank Barnsley Resort for inviting me to this special place & event! Thank you Barbara Close for your wonderful presentation and Spa Mini Facial.
