Your Complete Branson, MO Travel Guide – Restaurants, Entertainment, & More!
When given the opportunity to spend 4 days and nights in Branson, Missouri with several travel writers, I was ecstatic to take the trip and go for a visit. While Branson, Missouri, wasn’t necessarily a place that was on my radar initially, I was so impressed by the shows, the food, and the sights that it had to offer. And let me tell you…Branson, MO did NOT disappoint! This post is in partnership with Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center. As always, all opinions are my own.
My itinerary was set before arriving. Not only was it jam-packed with some of the best shows to see in the area, it was also highlighted with some awesome “tourist” places to visit and some amazing food options as well. I can guarantee you that during the entire four days that I spent in Branson, never once did I feel hungry, or at a loss for what to do. There was literally something open and available to do at any point in time during the day and night. In fact, I can’t wait to take another trip back to see the rest of the shows and sights! Four days there was truly not enough time!
If you are looking to take a trip to Branson (which I highly recommend), I’ve put together a list of the best places to stay, dine and entertain. This is your complete travel guide which will include all the highlights of my vacation.
The Place to Stay when Visiting Branson Missouri
Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center
I cannot rave enough about the hospitality of the Stone Castle Hotel. From the moment I walked through those doors, I was treated like family. The employees and manager of this hotel not only greeted me with a smile and warm welcome each and every day, they seemed to genuinely care about having me there as their guest. I’ve never had such a wonderful experience at a hotel such as this one. Y’all know I’m from the south and have that awesome southern charm, right? This hotel upped the game when it came to southern hospitality. Next level charm for sure. And while their charm is what will bring me back to their location each and every time I visit Branson, I also was quite impressed by the offerings and layout of their “themed” rooms. If you have the chance to stay in a themed room at Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center, give the Sherlock Holmes room or the safari room a go. They are seriously just too much fun!
Things To Do in Branson, MO
Silver Dollar City
One word that describes Silver Dollar City. Amazing. Who knew that this attraction was smack dab in the middle of the US? Time flew by from the moment I walked into the park. Speaking of time, don’t forget to ride the Time Traveler while you are there, only if you dare! It’s the world’s fastest, tallest, spinning and steepest roller coaster.
Not only do they have a ton of awesome shops and live demonstrations happening (the fudge making and the glass blowers are a MUST to watch!), but directly underneath this giant park is an underground cave just waiting to explore. And explore I did. The awesome part of the cave is that it’s included in the price of the admission, so if you are looking for a free adventure to add a cool experience to your trip, taking the cave tour at Silver Dollar City is an absolute must. And while it may seem like I like food…(you know I do!), I must say that the food options at Silver Dollar City are seriously delicious.
Titanic Museum Branson
When learning that part of my trip to Branson was going to be able to tour the Titanic Museum, I was totally excited. I love museums, and I love learning more about past events that changed and shaped our history. Trust me on this…If you have the chance to visit this museum on your visit to Branson, please do. Not only is the entire building shaped and replicated to look like the Titanic ship, they did an excellent job at making it an engaging and interactive learning experience as well.
Calling all country music lovers! The Baldknobbers Theatre was not only entertaining but hilarious as well. It’s one of the most famous shows in Branson, and I can see why after attending. They did a wonderful job at combining comedy and country music, and I found myself entertained and laughing throughout the entire show. If you are looking for some good, clean fun in Branson and a music show that the entire family will love, Baldknobbers Theatre is the perfect place to go.
IMAX Entertainment Complex
During my trip to Branson, I was able to visit the IMAX Entertainment Complex to watch the film titled Ozarks Legacy and Legend. And let me just say, wow! Talk about an film that everyone should watch. This particular film plays multiple times everyday at this IMAX Entertainment Complex in Branson, and free to watch. You must purchase your tickets in advance. They do offer other movie selections as well. The picture and sound quality is top notch! It is a wonderful experience watching a film in this IMAX.
Branson Ferris Wheel
To say that this Branson Ferris Wheel is a show-stopper is an understatement. Seriously. I was traveling down the main strip in Branson taking in all the lights and sights (which is fun it itself, actually) and out of nowhere, there was this giant Ferris Wheel. And when I say giant, I mean GIANT.
Later I actually found out that it’s actually from Chicago’s own Navy Pier and now a highlight for all to ride and enjoy while visiting Branson. It stands 150 feet tall and gives you beautiful views of Branson and the country-side. And if you get the chance to visit it at night, the light show on the Ferris wheel is simply beautiful as well.
Clay Cooper Theater
The Clay Cooper Show that I was able to attend was amazing. They played a variety of great songs from ZZ Top, the Judds, NSYNC, the Jackson 5, Charlie Daniels, Christian music and so much more – something for everyone! All in all, the show is was truly family-friendly. Highly recommend checking out one of their four main shows when in Branson!
Dolly Parton’s Stampede
Looking for dinner and show, all in one? I was blown away by the fun factor of the Dolly Parton’s Stampede. Horses, daring jumps, and great acting were just a few of the highlights that I was able to enjoy. And the dinner was outstanding! It was so much fun to be able to eat a delicious meal and be thoroughly entertained at the same time.
Hughes Music Show
The Hughes Music show fits in perfectly with the ambiance of the town. I felt like I was on the edge of my seat the entire time in anticipation of what was going to happen next! They are a family of talented performers, including over 30+ children in their show! They are known for being the “World’s Largest Performing Family.”
Places To Eat When Visiting Branson
The World’s Largest CiCi’s Pizza Restaurant
Talk about a ton of pizza. I was able to eat lunch at the largest CiCi’s pizza in the World, and it did not disappoint. Have you ever had macaroni and cheese pizza? Well, I hadn’t before my lunch visit to CiCi’s and now I find that I’m craving it all the time. Give this pizza buffet a chance, you’ll be happy that you did. Gluten free? No problem. They offer a gluten free option as well. This is a great place to take the kids for a little fun. Did I mention they have a humungous arcade room?
Fall Creek Steak and Catfish House
You have to stop in and have lunch or dinner at Fall Creek Steak and Catfish House. Who knew this hidden gem full of great food was going to be of the most fun places to eat in Branson? Besides some delicious food and hot and ready rolls, the Singing Chef is who you will find here. You will be blow away with not only his amazing voice, but he also has quite the throwing arm! This restaurant is known for its “flying rolls” and when I say head’s up, I mean it! Those rolls come flying from all the way across the restaurant for you to catch, and eat. Warm and delicious and this is not a place that you want to catch and release.
McFarlain’s Family Restaurant
If you are looking for some delicious fried green tomatoes, then McFarlain’s Family Restaurant is the place for you. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. Great food and fun place to dine, but one tip! Don’t sit at the round table.
Florentina’s has some of the best authentic Italian around, and sure to hit the spot. I highly recommend making this dining spot a destination for your dinner plans one night!
Talk about a jam-packed exciting four days that we were able to spend in Branson, right? Honestly, I cannot wait to take my family and go back. The city was full of excitement, activities and some of the most genuine and friendly people that I have ever met. I want to thank Stone Castle Hotel & Conference Center and everyone in Branson for forever making an impact on my heart. My goal is to make another visit there to see the sights at Christmas time. I hear that Branson during Christmas is a sight to see, and I plan to make that happen!
