How to Put Together the Perfect Back to School Outfit
Do you want to know what the hot topic for back to school is? The perfect outfit! Think about it— the first day of school is when your kids make the biggest impression. I don’t know which is harder, buying clothes for girls or boys. After a little experience with this and with the help of my daughters, we have discovered how to put together the perfect back to school outfit. Here are our tips:
Self-expression is important
No outfit is perfect if it isn’t about self-expression. The cool thing about picking out a back to school outfit is that you get to choose an outfit that matches your personality. You don’t have to try and fit in with anyone else, choose an outfit that is great for YOU!
Style is a must
You probably don’t care about the perfect back to school outfit if you don’t care about style. All 3 of my kids are really into style and they have a great time picking out clothes they love. When I asked them about the perfect back to school outfit, they said that being stylish was a must!
Let your kids pick out their outfit
Don’t try and do the outfit for your kids, let them get involved. It’s a sad day when the kids don’t have a say in their back to school outfit. Watch their eyes light up as you let go of the reigns and let them choose an outfit that they love. Of course, a little parenting advice never hurts (we all know that some kids need it when it comes to fashion).
Get creative with what you have
Something that we are trying this year is taking a main piece of clothing and making several outfits out of it. Not only is this easier on the wallet, it’s a ton of fun. The kids love helping me find different options for outfits. We have one main piece and make several outfits out of it, give it a try! It’s amazing how adding different accessories can help change up an outfit.
When it comes to putting together the perfect back to school outfit, listen to your kids. They know what they want and like! What tips can you offer the rest of the parents out there? We are listening!
