Wine Cork Crafts: Easy DIY Wine Cork Christmas Tree

Does anyone love Christmas crafts as much as I do? My girls and I could do Christmas crafts forever. However, since the season only comes around once a year, we have to make the most of the craft time we have together. This DIY Wine Cork Christmas Tree is perfect for the Christmas season.

Most of us have enough wine corks to do these crafts. If you don’t drink wine, ask your friends to collect their wine corks for you. Tell them that their wine corks are going to a good cause. This fun DIY Wine Cork Tree can be put on the mantel during the Christmas season. It also makes an awesome gift for teachers or friends.

Materials Needed for DIY Wine Cork Tree:

  • Natural Corks (large tree = 32 corks, small tree = 19 corks)
  • Hot Glue or Craft Glue
  • Small Wooden Stars
  • Green Acrylic Paint
  • Brown Acrylic Paint
  • Yellow Acrylic Paint
  • Small Colorful Pom Poms
  • Paint Brush

Note: For this one I used craft glue to glue the corks, but you can also use hot-glue. It’s pretty interchangeable with the corks.

All of the corks used were natural corks, not synthetic.

Wine Cork CHRISTMAS Tree Step by Step Tutorial:

Cover a flat surface with wax paper. Line up your corks to create a tree shape. Add additional corks for the trunk. You want to do this before gluing to make sure the tree is flat on one side before you glue it.

Glue the corks by adding a line of glue to the cork and attaching it to the one next to it.

Putting together 1 row of 2 corks, 1 row of 3 corks, 1 row of 4 corks, etc. Once the rows are together, Add glue in a zig zag pattern to the row and attach the rows together. Finish by attaching the stem to the tree.

Let set to dry completely.

Use acrylic paint and paint the star, let dry completely.

Use acrylic paint to paint the tree green and the trunk brown. Two coats may be required. Let set to dry.

Use hot glue or craft glue to attach the star and pom pom ornaments to the tree.

Repeat until you have the desired number of trees.
